Create, maintain and improve web-based and PDF reporting for call centers in Dearborn and Melbourne, Florida, calculating customer satisfaction statistics from phone and web surveys, gathering data from Oracle, Informix, Qfiniti and SQL Server databases, and from IVR phone switch. Maintained Sharepoint web portals for internal Ford BAC members and Ford dealerships on http://www.fmcdealer.com.

 

2/1997 – current. Jewish-American History Foundation

Web Developer for 501(c)(3) non-profit educational foundation, http://www.jewish-history.com/, featuring a Civil War veterans search engine, http://www.jewish-history.com/SearchCWData.asp which allows the Internet user to query an MS Access database and view on-screen reports, by selecting multiple criteria from dropdown lists. An SQL Command combining all the user’s selected query terms is sent to the server to retrieve the records and display in a report format.  Another feature is the “Walnut Street” Electronic Library, which includes the full text of hard-to-find 19th-Century Judaica, including “The Occident And American Jewish Advocate,” a magazine published from 1843-1868. “Occident” pages are scanned from 35mm microfilm using Microtek i800 scanner and Omnipage Pro 15 OCR. An ASP portal redirects web browsers to different domain names hosted on the same IP. The website project was constructed according to SDLC, constructed using HTML, Active Server Pages, javascript, java applets, VBScript, Visual Interdev, Photoshop, Acrobat, Dreamweaver, Fireworks and FrontPage. The site receives an average of 50,000 visitors a day, and has received awards from The History Channel, PBS, Britannica Online, Civil War Interactive and Yahoo! Listed in the “Top 100” of Civil War on the Web: A Guide to the Very Best Sites published by Scholarly Resources and the subject of an interview on Sirius XM radio program “Studio J.” The site also generates revenue from affiliate partnerships with various Judaica and Israel online vendors at http://www.jewish-history.com/emporium.

 

8/2006 – 2/28/2007. Ford Motor Company, Service Engineering Operations. Web Programmer. Part of E-business team providing 2nd tier customer support to dealerships and body shops using the Professional Technician Society, http://www.motorcraftservice.com, http://www.fordinstallersupport.com and http://www.fordasset.com websites. Updated pages with PDF documents as requested. Maintained CSS style sheets for “look and feel,” and programmed VBscript ASP pages for backend connections to SQL Server databases and CDO email procedures. Created SQL stored procedures. Shared SQL Server database information across platforms using XML.

Provided extensive systems support, including engineering needs analysis, installation and maintenance of hardware, software, and networking, for vehicle engineering test labs and experimental assembly garage at Cadillac. This system consisted of a DEC VAX 8600 server, networking with close to 100 PCs and two standalone Macintosh workstations. In addition, several peripherals, including modems, laser printers, plotters, device drivers, data acquisition devices, mainframe emulators and communications boards were installed through serial ports. Converted All-in-One documents to WordPerfect.

Position: PROGRAMMER ANALYST

Developed, from specifications through testing and analysis, a Quality Assurance system for chemical testing, specification, statistical analysis, control and trend charting. Utilized Fortran with FMS, FDL, RS/1 and various graphics applications on a clustered VAX 8650 and 11/785, running VAX/VMS.

3/1986-3/1987 Textron
Developed, from concept through implementation, several database modules, files and tables, using FMS, FDL and Fortran on a DEC Microvax II, running under VAX/VMS. The databases encompassed data collection and acquisition, shop floor control, and interfaced with ALLEN BRADLEY and SIEMENS PLC devices for AGV (Automated Guide Vehicle), tool selection robot arms, manufacturing tool inventory, scheduling, and other applications.
