Verses,

By One of the Infant School “The Path of Truth,”
on Tuesday 14th April, 1840.

By Miss A. K. Samuda.

I.

   Thank you for all the blessings you bestow;
For you have bidden many hearts rejoice,
   And stretched forth aid to poverty and wo.

II.

   And kind instructors guide our early youth;
They teach with love before God’s throne to bow,
   And lead to paths of innocence and truth.

III.

   Who shield us thus from sin and sorrow’s power?
May peace reign o’er their life, and at its close,
   Hope of bright future bless their parting hour!
